More than many other sectors the technical building equipment sector is being faced with a number of impacts since the last years, e.g.:

• The impact of  new regulations like energy saving decree (EnEV 200x) or EuP directive („Ecodesign act“) on general demand
• Structural changes in building equipment related trades leading to new activities across trades and new requirements and expectations manufacturers are being faced with
• Attitude of end-customers regarding  new alternative technologies
• Complex decision-making processes and increasing influence of end-customers in certain product areas
• Changing demand  of end-customers related to  for instance heating, comfort  and security
• Issues of 3-stage distribution system and concentration on wholesale level  

In addition, this (at least on the German market) comes along with decreasing new construction activities for a number of years, which leads to increasing focus on modernization and refurbishment.

To be successful, both complexity and dynamics in these markets require not only comprehensive information about customer expectations and competitors but also regarding expected market changes.
